Let's sort out which companies are currently ensuring reliable operation of domestic specialty equipment.
LLK-International LLC (PJSC LUKOIL) acts as a true driver of the market, producing around 800 product lines. The AVANTGARDE series for heavy-duty diesel engines and the zinc-free GEYSER hydraulic oils are developed on the basis of their own base oils. The production footprint covers dozens of plants worldwide.
TEBOIL is the renowned Finnish brand which, after a large-scale modernisation of its Russian plant in Torzhok, has increased production capacity to 240,000 tonnes per year. Maximum automation and comprehensive laboratory control enable the production of premium oil grades and hydraulic fluids suitable for operation in extremely low temperatures.
Pakmas (trademark of Liebherr-Russland LLC) is an ambitious brand registered in 2023. A modern plant located in central Russia produces lubricants based on premium components for climatic zones ranging from –60°C to +180°C.
Phoenix Lubricants LLC addresses the issue of access to global bestsellers. The company officially imports original Shell, Mobil and Valvoline oils, providing transparent analytics from independent laboratories. In addition, the company acts as an official distributor of the Bosnian brand Nestro.
Alleya Grupp LLC covers market needs on several fronts. First, it supplies directly from the plants of Turkish oils Lubex and the premium Chinese brand Lopal. Second, the company develops its own brand reinWell, whose products are manufactured in Russia and feature a special additive package.
Chemmotology Research and Technology Centre LLC from Ryazan, under the brand CONSOL, proves that a Russian product can confidently compete with European ones. The enterprise produces over 1,000 types of oils and technical fluids, with production capacity reaching 25,000 tonnes per year.
CARVILLE RACING (a division of KARVIL Management Company). Their production of engine and transmission oils for specialty equipment is based at an advanced plant in the UAE. Only top synthetic base oils and the best global additive packages are used. The company conducts strict output control and is preparing to open its own expanded laboratory complex.
What lies ahead for the market?
Analysts are confident that the industry will experience “natural selection” over the next 1–2 years: companies without stable quality will leave the niche, while serious players will establish themselves firmly and for the long term. The focus will be on component localisation and long-term customer relationships. Electrification of heavy machinery in our country is not an imminent prospect, so demand for conventional engine oils will remain consistently high.
